Brand Wicklow Local Heroes Public Meeting

The Brand Wicklow Town Public Meeting, which was held on Thursday 19th January in the Grand Hotel, was a huge success. With representatives from all local businesses (retailers, publicans, restaurants, coffee shops, B&B owners and community leaders) the positivity and community spirit of Wicklow people was staggering. The focus of the Local Heroes campaign is on communities developing initiatives to sustain and create employment in the local economy.

Victorian Wicklow Town has won the Christmas Business Towns Competition

Congratulations to every retailer and trader in Wicklow who pulled together to make our town look spectacular last Tuesday and Wednesday.  RTE has informed us that we have won the Medium Towns Category in The RTE Business Christmas Towns Competition.

IEAR (Irish Employers for Affordable Rates) Statement

The IEAR (Irish Employers for Affordable Rates) has increased the momentum on its mission to get action on the unfairness of the commercial rates situation which exists in our country.
The group which included its Co Wicklow Committee Chairperson Mr Denis Fielding converged on Dail Eireann last Wednesday and proceeded to lobby local and national TDs on the effects this charge is having on businesses throughout the country.
