At the monthly Board Meeting of the Co. Wicklow Chamber the outgoing President Mark Felton handed over the chain of office to Pascal Burke who is also President of the Wicklow & District Chamber of Commerce.
First elected President of Wicklow & District Chamber in January 2007, Pascal is very well known and active in the business and wider community of the county.
Pascal congratulated Mark on his term as President at a time when the Co. Wicklow Chamber hosted the prestigious National Business Forum, a showcase for the county as a destination for business. This was the first time this major annual event was held outside of Dublin or Cork. Pascal said that "Mark had played a significant role in the development of the Co. Wicklow Chamber throughout his term in office for which we are all indebted". He said that it is now very important that the thrust of the Chamber in focusing on the Employment and Investment needs of the County together with correcting the infrastural deficit is maintained and progressed. It is important that Co. Wicklow is made more attractive to Investors and potential Employers in order that we grow the employment numbers and get increased investment in the County. This will enable the County to come through this difficult economic phase ready to take advantage of the upturn in our economy over the next couple of years.
