Committees

The project work of the Chamber is the responsibility of our Sub Committees. This is where the real work of the Chamber is done. There are currently 3 Sub Committees and they report progress on their work at our Monthly General Chamber Meeting.

When joining the Chamber, we recommend that you consider joining whichever committee you feel would be appropriate to your interests.

Retail Committee
Addresses the key issues facing retail members (i.e. parking, town road works, shop local vouchers, street cleaning, policy issues, water irrigation systems, water rates, flower baskets). Maintains ongoing dialogue with the Town Council ar regal meetings on all relevant issues concerning our retailers and assists in developing the future shape of Retail in Wicklow.

Economic Development Committee
This committee examines all key development issues within our area (zoning, planning levies, industrial and commercial development, etc.) A key objective of this group is to ensure that key infrastructural services, Electricity, Telecommunications, Road Transport, Public Transport and Utilities Services are delivered promptly to ensure timely development of Industry and Commerce.

Me mbership / IT Committee
To promote the activities and benefit of membership and the recruitment of new members. To add value to membership on an ongoing basis. To promote and market all our annual social events, i.e. Our Golf Classic, Annual Dinner, and other Social Events that will enhance and add value to Chamber membership. To promote improved information Technology, Education and Communication amongst Chamber members. To redevelop and maintain the Chamber website with a view to ensuring that the website is interactive and that links are developed to allow Chamber members to promote their business actively on our website.
